Summer is fast approaching for citizens in the northern hemisphere. Traditionally a time for vacations, summer travels will be different this year. Borders are slowly reopening after being closed because of the pandemic, particularly to visitors who have received the Covid vaccine. Fully vaccinated travelers will be able to take advantage of their status and travel to several countries that are now accepting tourists who have completed both courses of the two-dose Covid vaccine from a verified provider (Moderna, Pfizer, or AstraZeneca).

Before packing your bags and rushing to the airport, it is essential to check the current status of vaccinated travelers being allowed into your destination. Guidelines and rules are constantly shifting, and keeping abreast of up-to-date information will ensure a hassle-free holiday. Specific Covid laws govern tourism, including what country a traveler is from, how long ago s/he was vaccinated, what vaccine was administered, whether the correct documentation of the vaccination is available, the possibility of needing to show results a recent Covid-19 test, and more. Thorough preparation is necessary before embarking on a holiday, even if you have had the Covid vaccine.

Once you have confirmed that you meet all the country’s requirements, it is time to pack your vaccine card and go! Countries that are currently allowing fully vaccinated travelers include:

Belize: if you are craving sunny weather and a beachy locale, this Caribbean destination is an option for the fully vaccinated

Iceland: the land of volcanoes and geysers is open to all who have completed their vaccine protocol

-Georgia: fully vaccinated travelers are allowed to enter Georgia by air

-Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands: visitors who have completed a two-dose vaccination protocol will be able to enter without further PCR or antigen testing

-Lebanon: while all visitors are required to take a PCR test, fully vaccinated travelers will not have to quarantine upon arrival

-Seychelles: while all travelers are mandated to submit a negative PCR test upon arrival, those who are vaccinated will not have to quarantine and can head straight to the famous Seychellois beaches

-Thailand: fully vaccinated travelers, with the proper visas, can explore Thailand from Chiang Mai to Phuket.

While this list may seem short right now, we can look forward to increased international travel and adventure post-pandemic.
